Speaker Briefs

Robert Bransfield, MD has an office-based practice of psychiatry with an emphasis upon treatment of resistant cases.  In addition, Dr. Bransfield is the Associate Director of Psychiatry and the Chairman of Quality Assurance at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank, NY.  Dr. Bransfield is a Board member of ILADS.

Joseph J. Burrascano, MD is Vice President of ILADS.  He is recently retired from private practice in East Hampton, Long Island, NY.  He is developing a universal data base for gathering and analysis of Lyme and Tick Borne Diseases.

Daniel J. Cameron, MD, MPH is Medical Director, First Medical Associates, Mt. Kisco, NY.  He is also in private practice in Mt. Kisco, NY and on the staff of Northern Westchester Hospital Center.  Dr. Cameron is a Board member of ILADS.

Sam T. Donta, MD is Professor of Medicine, Boston University and Boston VA Medical Center.  He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. He is Past President of the Connecticut Infectious Disease Society.

Brian A. Fallon, MD is Associate Professor of Clinical Psychiatry, Columbia University; Director, Lyme Disease Research Program, NYS Psychiatric Institute.

Richard Horowitz, MD is President Elect of ILADS.  He is a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine.  His practice in Hyde Park, NY focuses on traditional and alternative approaches to treating the most difficult cases of Lyme and associated diseases.

Charles Ray Jones, MD is a pediatric Lyme specialist in private practice based in New Haven, CT.  A senior member of ILADS, he is considered the dean of pediatric Lyme by his colleagues.

Kenneth B. Liegner, MD is in private practice in Armonk, NY.  He is a diplomate, National Board of Medical Examiners as well as certified in Internal medicine.  He has additional training in Critical Care Medicine and that has cared for many cases of serious neurologic Lyme disease over the past 20+ years.

David C. Martz, MD is in private practice at the Rocky Mountain Chronic Disease Specialists.  He is a self-described internist, hematologist, and oncologist with a special interest in antibiotic treatment of motor neuron diseases.

David C. Owen, Bsc., MB, BCh, LLM. is Clinical Assistant in Accident and Emergency medicine, Univ. Hospital of Wales, Cardiff.  He is also in private General Medical practice in Cardiff, Wales.  Dr. Owen is a member of ILADS.

Leo J. Shea, III, PhD is clinical associate professor of Rehabilitation Medicine at the Rusk Institute of Rebilitation Medicine in New York City.  He has a particular interest in Neuropsychology. Dr. Shea is a member of ILADS.

Raphael B. Stricker, MD, President of ILADS is Diplomate, American Board of Internal Medicine.  He is the Medical Director of Union Square Medical Associates in San Francisco, CA and a prolific researcher and author on medical topics.

Colin Walsh, MD is currently a specialist registrar in Obstetrics and Gynecology in Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge University, UK.  He is formerly a resident in OB-GYN at Columbia University Medical Center.  An Irish citizen, he is a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

Stephen K. Wikel, PhD is professor of Immunology at the School of Medicine, University of Connecticut Health Center.  He has done over thirty years of research focusing on immunology of tick-host transmitted infectious agent interactions.

David S. Younger, MD is Chief of Neuromuscular Diseases at New York University Medical Center and St. Vincent’s Catholic Medical Center in Manhattan.  He has a private practice in New York that includes both pediatric and adult neurological Lyme.
