John Baita described his sister Sue’s battle with Lyme disease. His sister suffered the most from hyperacusis, a severe sensitivity to sound. Mr. Baita describes in a detail his sister’s struggle with this severe adversion to noise. His sister had those that loved her were frustrated that doctors misdiagnosed her condition early in the course of her disease as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and as Epstein-Barr virus. Tragically, his sister took her life on August 21, 2005.
John Baita sister’s story illustrates the need for professional to work together to diagnose Lyme disease early in the course of their disease and to work towards more effective treatments.
