An Evening of Musical Entertainment: Jammin’ Jazz

Attendees of the ILADS 2017 Annual Scientific Conference, Boston, join us for our second ILADS' Jazz Jam session. This event will take place Thursday evening November 9 from 7-9pm at the Park Plaza Hotel. Attendees from the ILADS community will team up with professional musicians to entertain you with Jazz music. This will provide you with a fun, informal setting to connect with your ILADS colleagues the night before the scientific session starts. There will be small bites and drinks at a cash bar. The event is free for all registrants. But there is limited space. So, sign up now and plan to arrive in Boston early.

Trumpeter Ken Liegner, MD, says, at our first Jazz Jam in Ft. Laurderdale, October 2015 “Our very own song-stylists Ginger Savely, Bea Szantyr and Kelly McCann each rendered beautiful personalized selections from The Great American Song Book and harmonized together on a couple as well. The setting then was on a terrace overlooking the ocean, with a cruise ship leaving its slip, fireworks overhead and the Goodyear Blimp passing close by! It may be hard to match or exceed that wonderful event, but we will do our best to do so in Boston!!”

Attendees with suitable musical ability and desire to perform are requested to email with their contact information, their area(s) of musical ability and how they might wish to contribute. Participants can choose their offerings, subject to approval by Musical Director, Dennis Yerry. For vocalists, keys will be transposed to their vocal range. The event is in its formative stages, so please communicate as soon as possible to assure timely selection of performers and pieces. Kenneth Liegner will be assisting Dennis by interacting with conference attendees and ILADS members.

Those who will be performing will need to arrive at the Boston Park Plaza Hotel in Boston on Wednesday evening, November 8th because there will be a rehearsal on Thursday morning for the performance on Thursday evening, November 9th.
