INTERNATIONAL LYME AND ASSOCIATED DISEASES SOCIETY

Objective

To give physicians within clinical practice and scientific researchers the basic tools used to diagnose and treat tick-borne diseases and to have transparent and evidence-based discussions regarding controversial themes surrounding tick-borne diseases.

Conference Description and Goals

  • To learn a historical perspective on scientific progress in Lyme and other-tick-borne diseases
  • To learn the current state and options for testing, diagnosis and treatment protocols
  • To learn current thinking of the pathophysiological mechanisms behind chronic diseases that may be relevant to Lyme and other tick-borne diseases
  • To learn about less recognized manifestations of Lyme disease, including pediatric, neurologic and neuropsychiatric presentations
  • To learn to share knowledge between researchers, tick-borne disease medical experts, and front-line practitioners, and foster the development of networks for continued learning

Conference Information

ILADS welcomes you to attend its 6th European Conference in Helsinki, Finland on 10 - 11 June 2016. This year we are delighted that ILADS member Leona K. Gilbert, PhD, in conjunction with the University of Helsinki, is collaborating with ILADS to organize this educational opportunity. You are encouraged to attend one of the two conferences. The first is a Lyme Fundamentals one day intensive course on Friday. The second is TWO full days, Friday and Saturday including both scientific and educational presentations. All of the talks are given by our Lyme experts.

Conference Tracks

You have the option of three different conference tracks. They are:

  • Attend the Fundamentals course (Friday)
  • Attend the Scientific Course (Friday & Saturday)
  • Attend the Fundamentals (Friday) course and the Saturday session of the Scientific Course (Saturday)

CME Credits

This is a CME accredited conference and CME has been awarded by the Faculty of Medicine, University of Helsinki. All participants will be issued certificates of attendance. CME has been awarded as follows: Infectious Disease 2.0 hours; Clinical Microbiology 2.0 hours; Paediatrics 1.0 hours; and Pathology 5.0 hours.

Target Audience

MDs, DOs, NDs, DMD, DVM, PhDs, RNs, NPs, PAs, LCSW, DC's and select alternative medicine providers. In addition, medical and PhD students, residents, and interns may attend..

Confirmation

After registration and receipts of payment delegates will be sent an email confirmation, which should be printed out and brought to the conference registration desk.
