The 2018 PA Lyme Medical Conference

New Frontiers in Lyme and Tick-Borne Diseases

In collaboration with the PA Lyme Resource Network and the Drexel University College of Medicine


To provide a broader view of tick-borne diseases, including research updates, a review of critical challenges, diagnostics – current and future, and treatment using today’s strategies.

Conference Description and Goals


ILADS is delighted to partner with PA Lyme Resource and Drexel University on a weekend intensive Lyme course. The meeting will begin on Friday night April 6, 2018 with dinner and CME speakers. The next day, Saturday April 7, 2018 is a full slate of scientific presentations.

  • To provide an update on evolving perspectives and research on Lyme/tick-borne diseases
  • To discuss critical challenges in addressing the epidemic of Lyme/tick-borne diseases in PA
  • To review current state and innovations underway in testing and diagnostics.
  • To share the latest in diagnosis and treatment strategies, based on today’s knowledge, guidelines and available tools.
  • To explore less recognized manifestations of Lyme and other tick borne diseases, including neuropsychiatric and cognitive and CNS/neurological, including case discussions.
  • To expand understanding of Lyme, by exploring common co-infections in PA, including Babesiosis (now a reportable disease in PA), and Bartonellosis.
  • To enhance knowledge-sharing between researchers, tick-borne disease medical experts, with front-line practitioners, and foster development of networks for improved patient care.

This Live activity, Drexel University-ILADS Conference: Tick-Borne and Other Chronic Infections, Research and Practice, with a beginning date of 04/10/2015, has been reviewed and is acceptable for up to 12.75 Prescribed credit(s) by the American Academy of Family Physicians. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Medical Society of the State of New York (MSSNY) through the joint sponsorship of Westchester Academy of Medicine and International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society. The Westchester Academy of Medicine is accredited by MSSNY to provide continuing Medical Education for physicians.

The Westchester Academy of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 12.75 AMA PRA Category I Credits TM. Physicians should only claim the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

This conference has been approved by the Pennsylvania State Nursing Association, an accredited provider by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. This activity has been approved for 14 credit hours for the two day program.

Target Audience

MDs, DOs, NDs, DMD, DVM, PhDs, PsyDs, RNs, NPs, PAs, LCSW, DC’s and select other medical providers. Medical students, residents, or interns may register at a discounted rate. Patient advocacy members, as space permits and as determined and approved by Conference Leadership.

Pricing and Registration

The pricing reflects our actual expenses. It is our mission to educate medical professionals.

Regular fee: $425.00.
ILADS member fee: $375.00

Registration fee includes CME fee plus meals and networking breaks.

Interested in exhibiting? We expect to have 100-200 medical professionals in attendance, primarily from Pennsylvania. Exhibitor participation will be limited to 19 booths in order to make this a worthwhile experience for both exhibitors and attendees.

Set up for this table-top show will be from 4-7pm on Friday April 6, 2018. Exhibits will be open Saturday from 7am-5:30pm. Continental breakfast, lunch and networking breaks are included for two booth staff.

Make your reservation to stay at the Hershey Lodge today! We are told Hershey Amusement Park will be open the weekend of our meeting. And so, we expect the room block to quickly fill up . Have your family enjoy a relaxing spring day in Hershey while you learn updated information on how to diagnose and treat tick borne diseases.

The special room rate of $189. for a King Size or Queen/Queen bed is good on or before March 12, 2018 until the room block fills up. This does not include a 6% PA State hotel tax and a 5% Dauphin County tax. Reservations may be cancelled up to 72 hours in advance of the meeting without sustaining a penalty.
