A Precious Gift
HARTFORD COURANT October 1st, 2006
Your publication of Dr. Steve Phillips' letter/article [Sept. 24] on the subject of the currently under-recognized epidemic of Lyme disease represents comprehensive, thought-provoking, and factual scientific reporting at its best. The Courant's publication of that letter is a precious gift to Lyme-literate, treating physicians and will help serve as an antidote for the nearly universal misdiagnosis and maltreatment of Lyme patients everywhere.
The medical world owes you and Dr. Phillips for this clarification of the scientific truth regarding tick-borne disease. Thanks go out to him and to the Courant for allowing him to say, in essence, that the IDSA (Infectious Disease Society of America), the powerful outfit whose leaders hide this epidemic), like the famous emperor, has no clothes on.
