Conference Overview

Thank you for a successful 19th Annual Conference!

ILADS Board member Mualla McManus, PharmD chaired the 2018 fall scientific conference - our first in the Midwest United States. The annual conference’s theme was Tick-borne Disease and the Immune System. ILADS is grateful to the over sixty presenters who generously shared their expertise with their medical colleagues. Three conference tracks were presented:

  • Experimental Treatments: This track explored new, potential treatment options for tick-borne diseases. (No CME was awarded for this track.)
  • Lyme Fundamentals:  Research and clinical expertise were presented to give providers the basics of how to proceed to effectively manage tick-borne disease patients. Over 150 doctors attended this track. Each now has the option to move forward with ILADEF’s popular Physician Training Program.
  • Three-day Scientific Conference: More than 50 speakers took part in plenary and breakout sessions focusing on the relationship between tick-borne diseases and the immune system as well as on new diagnostic testing options and new research findings.
