Volunteer with ILADS
ILADS has volunteer opportunities for both members and non-members. Please click on the appropriate link below to learn more.
NEW ILADS Ambassador Program
The ILADS Ambassador Program is designed to enable volunteers who are passionate about ILADS and support its mission to help increase our outreach and brand awareness. Both members and non-members can participate in the program. Ambassadors will facilitate introductions among potential partnerships (i.e. sister societies), recruit new members, share ILADS news, give presentations to local groups, and promote ILADS programs and research.
Volunteers in the ILADS Ambassador Program are NOT considered members. Membership in ILADS is separate from this program.
How to Apply:
- Complete the online ILADS Ambassador Application
- Complete a brief interview with the ILADS Executive Director or ILADS Membership Director
Once approved, you will be invited to attend a Zoom orientation to learn more. Ambassadors will meet quarterly, via Zoom, to discuss upcoming events, review on-going tasks/projects, and give progress reports “in the trenches.”

Committee Volunteer Opportunities (Open to ILADS Members Only)
Much of the work done with ILADS is through the time, dedication, and expertise of our members who serve on committees. If you are an ILADS member who is interested in volunteering, please complete the Volunteer Application below. Once received, the ILADS Membership Director will reach out to you to discuss placement on a committee. Be sure to include an accurate phone number and email address on your application.
ILADS Volunteer Expectations:
- Most committees have regularly scheduled monthly conference calls (usually 1 hour) on Zoom with Agenda and an ILADS Staff Liaison.
- Volunteer hours/month: typically, 1-2 hours, possibly more based on projects; Committees work year-round.
- Only ILADS members are allowed to serve on committees.
- By submitting the ILADS Volunteer Form, you agree that all work done by the Committee while serving on that committee will be wholly owned by ILADS. This is true regardless of whether you leave the group before the work is concluded.
For more details, please contact the ILADS Membership Director, Whitney O’Donnell at wodonnell@ilads.org.
